Electronic Maintenance Management

Our internet-based Electronic Maintenance Management system automates inspection and maintenance life cycles for all fire protection components, in accordance with the relevant Australian Standards and codes.

We have customised this system to produce effective reporting specifically for fire protection services. It allows us to track all routine testing requirements of each individual asset, as well as managing minor works and rectifying defects.

A new innovation at Brisbane Fire Protection is mobile devices; cutting-edge technology that will allow us to give you an even more efficient service. With the mobile device our technicians can upload the testing requirements, enter in the pass or failure points and any notes, and instantly generate an electronic report for you and our head office.

Naturally, our qualified technicians will come to your site to carry out vital maintenance of your fire protection. To schedule your service, call Brisbane Fire Protection on 07 3123 7350, 24 hours a day.

Brisbane Fire Protection can supply a range of portable fire fighting equipment to suit all types and classes of fires. Our team will be happy to help you select the correct fire extinguisher for your needs, and assist with installation, training and servicing.

Extinguishers, hose reels and fire blankets must be inspected in accordance with the Australian Standards 1851-2012.

Passive Fire

At Brisbane Fire Protection we design fire prevention systems based on the premise that fire can occur almost anywhere, any time. Passive fire protection can help minimise the potential risk to your property by stopping fire from spreading.

The correct installation of fire and smoke walls or doors, barriers and penetrations can work to confine a fire and preserve the structural integrity of your building.

By containing the effects of a fire to a single room, a properly fitted and maintained fire door can dramatically reduce fire damage to your property, as well as minimising the spread of hot gases and smoke.

Passive fire management and fire door inspections must be carried out in accordance with the Australian Standard 1851-2012.

Fire Sprinkler Systems

Sprinklers, Pump Sets, and Fire Hydrant Systems

As one of the most effective means of controlling fire, sprinkler systems can potentially save lives in the event of a fire at your business.

A fire sprinkler system is an active fire suppression system, designed to automatically operate in the event of a fire. Because sprinkler systems need constant water pressure supply to ensure correct activation in an emergency, it’s important to arrange for regular servicing and testing from Brisbane Fire Protection.

A fire hydrant provides water from the mains water supply, for the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service to use in the event of a fire. To assist pressure to these systems Brisbane Fire Protection can install a diesel or electric pump set, which we can also regularly service to ensure its correct function.

Sprinkler systems must be inspected in accordance with the Australian Standard 1851-2012.

Emergency Lighting

Power failure is a common side effect of a fire. To assist with the safe evacuation of your staff and customers, Brisbane Fire Protection can supply and install emergency lighting powered by mains 240 volt, with a self-contained battery backup for continued operation in the event of an emergency.

Exit & emergency lights must be inspected by a qualified electrician or QBBC licensed fire contractor in accordance with Australian Standard 2293-1995.

Fire Detection and Evacuation Warning Systems

In a fire emergency, time is of the essence. The quicker a fire is detected, the quicker your people can be evacuated from the danger area.

We can supply fire & smoke detection systems which will detect fire and combustion products in an emergency situation, and alert your staff and other people in the building to begin evacuating. The system will also alert the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service that a fire situation either currently or potentially exists in your building.

We design Emergency Warning and Evacuation Systems with the aim of helping your people evacuate the premises in an orderly way in the event of an emergency. Our systems include warden phones, speakers and break-glass alarms distributed through your site or building. A central panel allows a nominated staff member to manage and control the evacuation process.

Special Hazards

Areas of your business or property that contain valuable equipment, such as computers, data and communications, transformers and PLC’s, are known as ‘special hazards’, which can present particular challenges for fire protection.

Brisbane Fire Protection can supply Special Hazards Systems including:

  • Gaseous fire suppression systems
  • Water mist systems
  • Deluge and pre-action systems
  • Foam systems
  • Vehicle & drag line fire suppression systems
  • Kitchen fire suppression systems

Special Hazardous Systems must be inspected in accordance with the Australian Standard 1851-2012.

Compliance and Testing

A crucial part of ensuring your life saving equipment will do its job when needed, compliance and testing services from Brisbane Fire Protection give you the peace of mind of knowing your fire protection system is working as designed.

Our specialised compliance and testing teams can perform periodic testing, depending on your system’s requirements, to ensure it’s fully working and compliant with relevant Australian Standards and Government regulations.

Whether you’re building an all-new facility, retro-fitting fire protection to an existing building, or moving into a new tenancy, compliance and testing from Brisbane Fire Protection gives you the reassurance that you are fully prepared if the unexpected happens.
